Christening

On Sunday I got to go see my first cousin once removed in law be Christened. Olivia is six weeks old and weighs about 10lbs. She was so good during the baptism, sort of woke up long enough to think it was strange that her head was wet, then went back to sleep.

I got to hold her at the second after party at Auntie Susie’s house [Marilyn's sister].

I was thinking about it and the last baby I held was Lauryn! So it has been a while. :)

Fridge Conversations

Remember the summer before I moved here there was a white board on the fridge for notes? I cleaned out some boxes the other day and recycled a great deal of paper. Among the papers, I found this gem:

Amy: This is my adopted son.
Becki: Really? He looks just like a camel!! :)
Amy: He is a camel.
Becki: Ohh!! No wonder!
Mom: No camels are allowed in the house…
Dad: Camels have padded feet just like you. We let you in the house.
Mom: If we’d known you had padded feet, we wouldn’t have let you in the house either!
Becki: So, if you have padded feet you can’t come in??
Amy: This is why Bear lives in the garage.
Dad: But Bear does not have a hump. That’s not fair.
Mom: Who said anything about hums?!?!
Becki: Aren’t we talking about camels???
Mom: Camels??? What camels???
Becki: Okay, who let in th monkies?!?
Amy: Sorry, it was the camel.
Dad: One hump or two?
Mom: No camels in the house, dang it!!!
Amy: *hides camel* What camel?!?!
Becki: I think there are two.
Dad: We’re not in canvas anymore!

Classic. :D
